Al-\u2018Uluuw lil-\u2018Aliyy il-Ghiffaar- by ath-Thahabee<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

431- \u2018Ahmad bin Hanbal said, Allah be pleased with him, Wakee\u2019 narrated to us, on authority of \u2018Israa\u2019eel, a narration \u201c\u2026when the Master, Lofty and Perfect is He, sat upon the Kursee\u2026\u201d, so a man near Wakee\u2019 trembled, then Wakee\u2019 became angry and said: \u201cWe observed al-\u2018Amash and ath-Thawree narrating these narrations and they did not reject it; \u2018Abu Haatim transmitted it on authority of \u2018Ahmad (also).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Wakee\u2019 bin al-Jarraah<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

al-\u2018Imaam, al-Muhaddith of al-\u2018Iraaq, al-Haafith, one of the \u2018A\u2019laam, born in 129H; he narrated from Sufyaan ath-Thawree who was from among his Shuyuukh, \u2018Abd Allah bin al-Mubaarak, Yahyaa bin \u2018Aadam, \u2018Abd ar-Rahman bin Mahdee, al-Humaydee, Misdad, \u2018Alee (bin al-Madeenee), \u2018Ahmad (al-\u2018Imaam), Yahyaa bin Ma\u2019een, \u2018Ishaaq bin Rahwayh, the children of \u2018Abee Shaybah, \u2018Abu Khaythamah.<\/p>\n

\u2018Israa\u2019eel bin Yuunus<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

al-Haafith, al-\u2018Imaam al-Hujjah, born in 100H; \u2018Abd ar-Razzaq, \u2018Abu Nu\u2019aym, al-Firyaabee, Yahyaa bin \u2018Aadam and \u2018Abul-Waleed at-Tayaalisee all narrated from him. He was declared Thiqah by the \u2018Aa\u2019immah of Hadeeth and the most strict, an-Nasaa\u2019ee said: \u2018There is no harm in him\u2019.<\/p>\n

This shows that ath-Thahabee considered this \u2018Athar authentic up to \u2018Israa\u2019eel, since the narration continues with the chain to \u2018Abee \u2018Ishaaq (who is \u2018an\u2019anah and Mudallis), on authority of \u2018Abd Allah bin Khaleefah (who is few in narrations and who sometimes reports this narration Munqati\u2019 and other times Marfuu\u2019), on authority of \u2018Umar, mercy upon him.<\/p>\n

What we know is that indeed the meaning of \u2018Juluus\u2019 for \u2018Istawaa \u2018alaa\u2019 was known in the first century of \u2018Islaam, and the \u2018Aa\u2019immah of this \u2018Ummah from the Salaf passed along this narration, despite its\u2019 weakness, accepting the expression found in it.<\/p>\n

We do not say that the Prophet, peace upon him, said \u2018Juluus\u2019 due to the weakness of the narration, however we do say that the Salaf affirmed this expression due to their acceptance of this wording by not objecting to it, and there are at least 2 narrations raised with weakness to the Prophet, peace upon him, so it is not possible to say that the Salaf never heard of this expression.<\/p>\n

Whoever objects to the meaning of this narration, has no Salaf in their objection, and rather the Salaf passed this narration along without objection, while acknowledging the weakness in the chain.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
