As-Salamu Alaykum wa Rahmatu Llahi,
The first set that I am able to photograph and describe to you is my copy of Ibn Katheer’s Jami’ al-Masaneed was-Sunan published by Dar ul-Kutub al-Ilmiyyah. It is a 37-volume text compiled into 18 volumes. There is a Muqaddimah included as a separate volume which provides a biography for Ibn Katheer, the authors of the Sunan, Masaneed, and Sahihayn included in the text, the views of Ibn Katheer on various Masaa’il, his methodology in compiling the text, and other information.
In case you do not have access to more information about the contents of the book, the Hadith are arranged by the name of the Companion, may Allah be pleased with them all. It includes all the Hadith from 10 of the greatest works of Hadith-
- Musnad Ahmad
- Sahih al-Bukhari
- Sahih Muslim,
- Sunan Ibn Majah,
- Sunan at-Tirmidhi
- Sunan Abi Dawud
- Sunan an-Nasa’i
- Mu’jam al-Kabeer of at-Tabarani
- Musnad al-Bazzar
- Musnad Abi Ya’laa
Some say it also includes the Hadith of Ibn Abi Shaybah as well. There are more than 100,000 Hadith, Athar, and Akhbar in the set with repetitions. Unfortunately Ibn Katheer passed away before he was able to complete the text and so the Musnad of Abi Hurayrah is not included in it. Shaykh Abu Abd Allah Abd as-Salam ad-Dimashqi completed the Musnad of Abi Hurayrah in a separate 3-volume work called at-Tamam al-Hasan and did so according to the methodology of Ibn Katheer in his Jami’ al-Masaneed.
