As Salaamu Alaykum

This blog contains commentary on current events from a Muslim perspective, original translations of Islamic texts, research into various topics related to Hadith, Tafsir, Fiqh and other sciences, as well as issues dealing with Aqidah.

I look forward to sharing with everyone, and reading your comments.

Wa Alaykas-Salam, it depends on what it is. I always have projects going on so it’s difficult to accommodate every request. Send it by email and In Sha Allah I will see.

    Assalamu Alaikum.

Was wondering if you knew what happened to the english version of the ahlalhdeeth forum? :

    http://www.ahlalhdeeth.com/vbe

For the past month, the site has been down for some reason.

      وعليك السلام

I have not been active on the forum for some years now. I believe my user account might have even been deleted by admins there. Like Islamic Awakening, the English Multaqa has become very biased and partisan in how it manages comments, user accounts and how the admins post. It seems that both sites lost membership and activity to the extent that keeping it up and running is no longer a priority. So there is less of an incentive to come back online after going offline for any reason.

brother just wanted to say Salams to you. I used to be on ia forums some of whose people/mods have gone to blatant kufr and riddah no question.. I remember how they used to mock the believers… everything i now see in a new light.. their soft tongues when they wanted to influence new comers, their focus on akhlaaq and adab (they used to tell the newcomers they need to learn adab first.. ie respecting the munafiqeen..) and tajweed even when they used to write arabic words in english posts they used to fill the whole posts with (for lack of better words) diacritical marks… they used to write the arabic words exactly as they are written in the arabic language itself,, seriously they used to throw their weight around doing that…
hasan basri used to say that the earlier people used to focus on implementing the verses of Qur’aan and you focus on their pronuncaition.. I am glad that era is past but i miss the good brothers

I often think of you and how the world has so few people who are sincere, I mean we need sincere people around .. why dont you update this blog with good things.. I am glad you still can be reached through this blog (saw your comment from mar 2016 so thats why)
I hope we stay firm on Iman and tawheed ..

you might be able to recall me because once i called them out for being rabid against you …

stay firm my brother, dont deviate in the slightest .. dont get uneasy

      Wa Alaykum us-Salaam,

Islamic Awakening forum, its owner and the mods he hand-picked were victims of their own deviant methodology. I’ve seen it happen time and again- started out as “Madh’hab traditionalists”, then transitioned to “Usulis”, then became followers of a “pro-reform” Arab scholar, then proponents of a version of Islam compatible with their choice of country in Dar al-Harb.

There were a few good brothers and sisters on that forum, however they became less and less active over time. I continued to work with them offline despite any differences online.

Getting banned from that forum was great for me and its demise shortly after didn’t surprise me at all.

Thanks for reaching out to me and though I don’t recognize you from your user name on wordpress, I appreciate the good sentiments.
