The meat, eggs, and milk of an animal which has been fed filth

As-Salâmu 3alaykum wa ra7matulLâhi.

I have heard that in the hanbaliyya eggs and milk had to be “halal” and so that we couldn’t eat eggs, drink milk nor eat chicken and so on… from animals that are called “jalallah”: those who receive some impurities in their food.

I am wondering how to consider it in our days when it became very hard to find something strictly pure… ?

Is this interdiction absolute ?

Jazakum AlLâhu khayran.

Wa-s-Salâmu 3alaykum.

In the third or fourth raka’ah, if the imam goes to ruku’ but I have not completed the recitation of al fatiha, should I complete reciting or follow the imam? What if the imam rises from ruku’ before I can complete it?

Friday Prayer before the time for Noon Prayer has even entered

basmalah

Q A I wrote:

I recently got a job, and alhamdolillah the musalla is just two minutes away. Dhuhr (and thus jumu’ah) time kicks in at about 1:30 here in Calgary. However, due to the small size of the musalla and the different times that the attendees are able to get their breaks, the musalla admins decided to make four jumu’ahs in the same musalla. That much is fine. However, what they have also done is to hold three of those four jumu’ahs before the actual time of dhuhr kicks in. Is this valid? They give the justification that it’s allowed by some Hanbali opinion. Is that correct?

Summary of Religious Duties during the Month of Rajab

Rajab, one of the four sacrosanct months in the Islamic year, began only a matter of days ago. We tend to use Rajab and Sha`ban after it to prepare for the holy month of Ramadan. For those who have prayers or make up fasts from the previous year, now is an excellent time to being fulfilling those duties; in sha Allah, husbands will be especially considerate when it comes to wives making up missed days. And for everyone, it’s an excellent time to return to Allah, and ask Him for an increase in obedience and acts of worship.

Given that this is the beginning of the month of Rajab and that this group is for Hanbali fiqh, is seems appropriate to give a small summary from a book by the great Hanbali scholar and hadith master, Ibn Rajab (may Allah have mercy upon him). The book is Lata’if Al-Ma`arif Fi Ma Limausim Al-`Am min Al-Watha’if, and its subject is informing what sorts of good acts are recommended for the various months and seasons of the Islamic year.

What follows is a very brief summary of the chapter’s contents. People familiar with the works of Ibn Rajab (may Allah have mercy upon him) in general, or this one in particular, will quickly realize how much of an injustice I have done. Whereas the works of Ibn Rajab (may Allah have mercy upon him) are full of citations from the Qur’an, hadith, poetry, accounts on the righteous Salaf and Khalaf; criticism and explanations of the various citations; and many other gems from the knowledge and wisdom that Allah bestowed him with — what I have done is simply summarize the things that would not be readily available to someone with a copy of Riyad Al-Salihin or the major canon of hadith literature. So, with the exception of a few explicit quotations from Lata’if Al-Ma`arif, these are my words and not Ibn Rajab’s (may Allah be merciful upon him). I ask that anyone who reads this makes a short supplication for Ibn Rajab, the early Muslims, all other scholars, and finally for the Muslim umma — past, present, and future; this is the least we can do for our predecessors and for each other.

Making up missed obligatory prayers

basmalah

Q I was wondering what the Hanbali school of thought is regarding missed prayers. Alhumdulillah i was born a muslim. However there were times that i missed my prayer while i was growing up. I know the Shafai and Hanafi school of thought is that all qada prayers need to be made up. Is this the case for the Hanbali fiqh?
